Editor's notes

While Christofle is the more well-known silver maker, the French prefer Ercuis for quality and beauty.

A distinguished 40-piece flatware service discovered at a Beaune flea market, this Ercuis set exemplifies French craftsmanship. Cast in brass and silver-plated, each piece bears the maker's mark—a hallmark of quality and provenance. The collection includes twelve place settings (teaspoons, tablespoons, and dinner forks), plus serving pieces: a fork, spoon, gravy ladle, and soup ladle. Proportions range from delicate 5.25" teaspoons to an elegant 12.5" soup ladle, offering both everyday utility and formal entertaining capability. Vintage patina and authentic construction make this a refined addition to curated table settings.
